Outdoor kitchens and fire features on the Eastside
Grills, counters, fire pits and fireplaces, with the gas, power and drainage planned before the stone.

How we approach it
An outdoor kitchen is a kitchen first. We plan the landing space, the lighting over the grill, the gas line and the cover that lets you use it in October. Fire comes next: a pit you gather round or a fireplace that holds a wall.
This is for you if
- You cook outside most of the year and want it under cover
- You want a fire feature that works with the burn rules where you live
- The grill lives on the deck and the cook stands alone
- You want to host more than six people outside
What you get in writing
- Kitchen layout with appliance positions and clearances
- Gas, electrical and lighting plan coordinated with licensed trades
- Fire feature options: gas, wood or both, with local rules checked
- Counter and cladding samples chosen with you
- A written, itemised scope before any digging
What moves the price
- Length of the gas and electrical runs from the house
- Appliance package and refrigeration
- Cover structure and roof material
- Counter material and cladding stone
- Fireplace versus fire pit
- Typical investment (sample)
- Sample range set by the owner, for example from $55,000 for a counter and grill to $180,000+ for a covered kitchen with a fireplace
- Typical timeline (example)
- Example: 4 to 6 weeks of design, 6 to 10 weeks of build

Questions about outdoor kitchens and fire
Can we burn wood on the Eastside?
Burn bans are called on some days, and some neighbourhoods have their own rules. Many clients choose gas or a gas-and-wood option. We check the rules for your address during design.
Will it hold up to the rain?
Counters, cabinets and appliances are chosen for outdoor use and the layout drains away from the cook. A cover is what turns a summer kitchen into a year-round one.

Thinking about the yard before next summer?
Start with one conversation. A designer walks the property with you for about an hour. You leave knowing what is possible, roughly what it costs, and how long design and build take.
